How To Make This Simple 3 Ingredient Tomato Salad
This recipe doesn’t need any cooking, so it is super easy to make. It’s great to make during the hot summer months! No dealing with hot kitchens in this recipe.
Thinly slice half a red onion and place it in a bowl of ice water. This crisps up the red onions and mellows out its taste. It’s best to use red onions over white onions for this recipe, as red onions give off more flavor when raw.
Get some fresh cherry tomatoes and wash them well. Slice them in half or in quarters, depending on which you prefer. Once your tomatoes are ready, drain and pat dry the sliced onions.
Now your ingredients are prepared and you’re ready to assemble.
In a serving dish or bowl, place about half of the tomatoes at the bottom. Add about half of the drained onions on top, then repeat this step. If you want to add any additional ingredients, add them before the last layer of onions. You don’t have to layer this salad, but it helps distribute the ingredients more evenly.
Drizzle over some olive oil, flaky salt, and fresh cracked black pepper. That’s it! Feel free to add additional herbs on top if you like.
