How to Make a Smoothie In 3 Easy Steps
Below I’ll share my secrets to making the perfect smoothie every single time. If you need smoothie recipes and ideas on how to make them with different ingredients, check out our smoothies page here.
Step 1: Pick your fruit, fresh or frozen.
Pick your favorite choice of fruit or even a combination of fruit! For smoothies, frozen fruit is always better, as it blends up to a thick and creamy consistency. If you don’t have any frozen fruit, you can always add 1 cup of ice to your smoothie.
Step 2: Add a thickening agent.
A thickener is key to help bind the smoothie together and add to the creamy consistency. Any type of dairy or dairy-free yogurt is great, as well as any nut butter as well. If you prefer a thinner smoothie, feel free to add less thickener or just forego it.
Last but not least, a liquid.
Step 3: Add a liquid
The liquid will help the smoothie blend smoothly while adding great flavor. Coconut milk can add a more tropical flavor while almond milk adds a nutty flavor. Feel free to adjust the amount of liquid depending on your preferred smoothie consistency.
The add-ins are endless!
If you want extra health benefits, feel free to add in vegetables such as spinach kale, or chia seeds for extra fiber. Flavors such as vanilla extract or cinnamon can also elevate your smoothie as well.
